should 6.5 mid-bass or 5.25 mid-bass speakers be used in door

If you use the standard enclosure in the door, the replacement speakers that will fit are 5 1/4". You can get 6 1/2" speakers to fit in there which will offer better bass, but it will require you to have custom enclosures. Some members of this forum have made and sold such enclosures.

Actually, I thought the factory speaker was a 5" not 5.25". I pulled mine to replace with 6.5" subwooders and it looks like (based on the work schedule) that next weekend is it for the install.
