Which sounds better: the 2.5 or 2.7?

I'm still Boxster shopping, my price range will allow me a 2.5 or earlier 2.7

I really love the pronounced high pitched metallic ziiiing the 2.5 litre motors have, from both inside the cabin and out, and maybe it's just me, but after driving a 2.7 today it seems like the engine note is a little more subdued and not quite as operatic as the little 2.5?

Silly question I know.. but has anyone noticed a difference in sound between the two motors?

I think Rando from NJ mentioned the same thing a couple of weeks ago. He liked the 2.5 as well.

I now have a 3.2 S. Yes I miss the sound of my first Boxster 2.5. That was sweet.
