986 Radio not working CDR-22

Had a new clutch fitted today and car has come back with a dead radio. The radio just wont turn and the display is dead. Dealer (specialist) says they did not disconnect the battery and suggested I try the fuse which I did and its fine. Can't be sure but I think after pulling fuse and returning it, the ON button is now illuminated as is the CD slot when front is hinged down. I don't think it was previously but can't be sure. Have not checked to fuse on rear of unit as I don't have the removal keys but guess if this is blown I would not see lights on front. Have heard there are issues with the ignition switch.

Any ideas?

Just corrected the radio model number to CDR-22. Hopefully will now be inundated with replies

I understand your comment about the light being on, but since the display is dead I would obtain a set of radio keys and check the fuse on the back. The ignition switch is always a possibility, but I would rule out the simpler problem before tackling that.

Good luck.
