Washed Engine
 

A friend of mines detailed my car and washed the engine to show his appreciation with some favors I've done for him. Now I can't get it to pass 40mph. He said it was because he forgot to leave the engine running during the engine wash. I gave the car a couple of days to dry out but even that did not help. T :confused: he gas pedal seems to just mush on the floor. I mean, I'm pressing with all my might and barely get any power. Now he said it might be my spark plugs. Any suggestions before I take it to the Porsche Dealership? I just got the Dansk header, exhaust, and pflow intstalled. Waiting to see if it's worth doing the powerchip. Now, I got to spend money to fix this problem.

Fist of all, your friend is a MORON.

Having said that, I would take it to the dealer and get it over with. There is no telling what his dimwit did to your car.

There is at least a possibility that all he did was dislodge the throttle cable from the "shoe" it runs around before connecting to the injection butterfly itself.
If this is the problem you will see the cable essentially flopping around loose on top of the engine. Slip in back into the groove on the shoe and all will be well.
I did this the first time I cleaned the engine in my car (with a shop vac, no water!), causing a big "Ohhh, s**t" moment, but easily fixed.

I'll give it a try when I get home.

The car is accelarating properly. Man, he musted of really drown my car! I'm going to have it serviced anyway to play it safe.
