Mike's IMS solution

This is why my wife does not let me have the checkbook.
The R8 engine bolts up to the boxster 5 speed tranny.
Food for thought.

Supposedly Brad Roberts found out that a Lamborghini engine will bolt up as well. Note Lamborghini, Porsche, and Audi all are owned by Volkswagen AG.

Mating motor and trans is the easy part. Getting the car to have a relaxed conversation with the motor is the trick. Call us when you resolve that little hurdle.

All I was asking for was Boxster GT-3 with a 3.8 flat six. Now that I know that I could get a V-12...

Nice! So we can choose from several power plants.
What are the specs on this cayenne? How do you like the car now?

Its wonderful to see that hot rodding lives on!

So Mike this is what you have been working on, huh?

Talk about about mad scientist in the garage! WoW!

Almost makes me HOPE for an IMS failure. Alas, mine is in the process of being replaced but there is always next time, or when the cash registers start ringing again!

As @Topless mentioned….are you able to get the computer to work in it?

Here I was thinking I had a problem buying a header, hmmm.

And you are mobile Porsche surgeon too? Nurse…pass the scalpel! ;)

Let us know how it turns out…better yet - come pick us up for a test drive! Yee-haw!

A guy called me this week.. His Supercharged 996 engine lasted 500 miles before it blew up (imagine that) after the SC install. He was comparing these engines to domestics and wondering why it cost so much.

I simply told him that since he has so much experience with other engines, and since he doesn't know that all that experience was going cripple him in learning about these engines that he should just rip out the 3.4 and install a Chevy V8. He was blown away that I wasn't trying to sell him something.

A T400 Gas Turbine would fit well in the engine bay of a Boxster.

All these monster engine implants are mind boggling. I could imagine going with a Raby rebuild/upgrade of some description as cost is well reasonable. I have been following a Monster Miata (v8) for sale in local kijiji ads. here and there don't seem to be any takers. Think about about how many $$$ you are putting in and what is the potential resale? Ayeee!
