Looking very good for our P Cars.It would be interesting to see if JD Power offers a ranking for the long haul, like 2 and 5 years.

I still get JDP surveys for my 5 yr old Boxster.

How is RAM so highly ranked when the rest of that brand (Dodge/Jeep/Chysler) is so low?

husker boxster 02-15-2013 05:09 PM

And why did they spin the truck portion into their own division? MPG requirements?

Is this overall data, or just data regarding 2013 Vehicle models? M.Y. range?

the student has become the master. VW needs to shape up.

I am surprised Honda is below Buick, and considering my Benz experiences, I'm surprised they're on there at all.

I'm also surprised that Scion is so low, because it is a Toyota badge. Not surprised at Jaguar's low ranking, and I think it's time for them to just stop making Land Rovers. Seriously, they're nothing like they used to be, and why the soccer mom set likes them is a mystery to me.

Audi always puzzles me, people seem to drive them with such pride, but I've heard mechanics call them "the rings of death". Don't know enough about them to judge, though.

From the JD Powers website:

This car reliability study measures problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old (2010 model year) vehicles, includes 202 different problem symptoms across all areas of the vehicle. Overall dependability is determined by the level of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The Vehicle Dependability Study is used extensively by vehicle manufacturers worldwide to help design and build better vehicles, which typically translates to higher resale values and higher customer loyalty.

.

I believe that is Buicks big issue, as they make excellent cars, but have a poor public perception issue. Years of making junky cars in 70's and 80's have tarnished Americas auto image.
I guess it makes them a good bargain used, but not much swagger at the stop lights.

To me, there is no quality when auto makers continue to build cars with such low quality plastic in all of the trim areas.

Look at the black plastic at the bottom base area of the windshield that turns chalky Grey.

Look at the fake clear plastic headlight covers that mimic good optic quality glass headlights. They turn dull and eventually become dangerous and ugly.

Look at the "leather" seats that crack at the drivers side bolster and are only spray colored instead of vat dyed. They crack to a different color.

And on and on !
