Is sure seems like the IMSB goes after a fresh oil change a lot. Is it a bad oil change that really causes this?

The IMS can fail at will as demonstrated in the video. When doing an oil change its always worth opening up your used filter and checking for metal filings with a magnet as this can often be a good way of picking up if a bearing is starting to break up.

First time I saw your video...will park my boxster for a while. Make some phone calls.

Will tracking it hard (~10k-15k miles out of 77k total) increase the rate of ims failures?

Did you (Michigan) think about putting in a 3.4 engine instead of rebuilding?

I could only find used 3.4's for sale for about 1.5k more than my rebuilt lump and then they had the danger of going pop too so I decided it wasn't worth it. I would dearly love to try a Boxster that had had the transplant done.
