Locking Camshaft(s) for imsb upgrade

I am a little confused about locking my camshaft and crankshaft at tdc. I am preparing my engine to remove and replace my IMSB. I have a 5 chain 2002 boxster base.

I am replacing the imsb with a LN eng. ceramic bearing. LN's instructs you to lock the crank at tdc and the exaust cams. There is only one locking plate suitable for this installation (5 chain).

My question is should I just lock one exaust cam or should I be locking both?

Thx in advance for you recomendation.

Fun project, I did it myself. Just lock the one. Looking from the back of the car toward the flywheel the cam is to the left and easy to lock with the correct tool.

You'll find an excellent writeup on the Pelican Parts - Porsche Parts & BMW Parts - Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche & BMW website. Good luck!

Lock the cam on the passenger side, right behind the seat.

Guess it doesn't matter what side then...I did mine on the passenger side and had zero issues.

Just recently finished it myself.

I also loked the one behind the passenger seat.
The tool didn't fit on the other side.
