Battery maintainer

I just put the Boxster away for the winter. I'm wondering about the light on the transformer end of the battery maintainer. It was lit the first 2 days but then it went off. It has not come back on yet. Is that normal operation? Does it come on only as needed?

I don't have one of these. What do the instructions that came with the tender say?

My wife always says I never read instructions and this is another example that she is right.
The instructions clearly state "the indicator light is lit during the charging process and goes out when fully charged. A small current continues to flow in order to prevent self-discharge of the battery. The charger need not be unplugged...".
Thanks for the help!

TerryB, they say a good test for the battery maintainer is to turm on your headlights (car NOT running) and the maintainer light will turn on after a few minutes (beacuse the battery is getting drained) then turn off the headlights, and then the maintainer will shut-off after a few minutes, after it gets caught-up.

Adding to the good advice above, the way I tell that all is well during the winter is to check to see if the alarm light is still flashing... if it is, all must be well with the battery. Gross test, but works.

Cool....I'll monitor both of those.
Mainly, I'll be looking forward to Springtime.
