04 with history of front crankshaft oilseal,axlebearing-?

04 s with 27k had front crankshaft oil seal replaced(transmission dropped) and axle bearing replaced. are those repairs ims fixes?

Nope, the IMS is a bearing that is accessed by dropping the transmission, the oil seal is just what it sounds like, a flexible barrier to keep the oil in the case. An axle bearing isn't it either. I wouldn't get to worried about selecting a car with the factory bearing, look how many members on here have put over 100K on M96 engines. I would be more concerned that the dealers in albany don't know much about the car, unless something has changed there is no Porsche dealer in albany NY. I'm not much of a PPI guy but it's a really good idea if you are buying the car from Larry's cars or even a competing car marque dealer.
