No power to passenger seat

Gents,
Just recently I noticed I'm not able to move the passenger seat using the button/lever on the side of it. I don't usually have a lot of passengers so I'm not sure how long it's been like this.

I noticed that there's a plug underneath it that is not connected to anything (pic attached). I also "felt around" and noticed a white female plug on a wire that didn't have anything connected. It appears there's an additional white female type plug mounted tightly to the brace underneath.

I attempted to plug the male into the "loose" female plug and it didn't "feel" right. Visually it looked like the two should have mated perfectly, but the clips on the side of the female plug looked bowed out after pushing it in all the way. Needless to say it didn't make the seat work.

What else can I check? Where should this plug be plugged into?

Thanks!

I don't recall exactly what it looks like, but there is a a socket under the passenger seat that the child seat airbag deactivation bar plugs into. If the bar isn't installed in your vehicle, then the socket is empty. My guess is that is the plug you're holding in your hand
