Driving hard with MAF unplug?

Hi all

I often see the suggestion to drive the Boxster with the MAF unplug to see if engine is running better to help diagnose a bad MAF. Since my engine is running bad at high RPM and load, can it be drive hard with MAF unplug to test if its the problem? Like 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 5-6k rpm?

Thanks
Chris

I probably wouldn't drive around for six months and do a ton of track days with it unplugged, but you'll be fine to pop out and spin the engine around seeing if it solves the problem.

all disconnecting the MAF does is force the engine computer to revert to a default fuel map. you're not going to hurt a thing.

You won't do any damage but you also won't be getting max power, the least emissions, or the best mileage either.
