What is the story with busted electric windows?

The multistrand cable inside the drivers side door has died.
I took a look inside the door panel and found the freyed end of wire hangin down.

I don't know my way 'round the inside of the car so called the garage this mornin to book it in.

Arrarently i need a whole new assembly.
Is this right, jusu looks like it needs a new cable to me.

Any ideas?
