Turn The Sound OFF, Please!!!
 

I just bought a new 2005 Boxter. . . . not a Boxter S. Its got, among most other features available, a navigation system. Its a wonderful car. I bought it instead of buying a 2006 Corvette. (I've had two previous Corvettes.)

But one particular Boxter feature is driving me nuts.

The nav system obviously demands the 5" LED display. The sound system also uses the display, as does the trip computer and several other features. The situation which drives me nuts is the sound system, I cannot turn on any of the display features without the sound (AM, FM, CD, etc.) coming on also. In some cases, I don't want the sound on.

Anyone know how to turn it off, but keep the other features (trip) accessible?? I have been through all the manuals and can't find the answer. Its probably hitting me in the face. but can't see it.

(And I know I can turn the sound on MUTE, but I'd rather it not be on at all.)
