Golf clubs...no fit GI...too beaucoup

Venting follows:

Played 18 today and put the clubs in the P car for the first time. Wow, it was like trying to put Rosanne Barr and Oprah Winfrey into a telephone booth. Getting the clubs back out was an even bigger challenge. :ah:

Talking

Everyone's golf game stinks. That is why golf is declining as a participant sport.

Pretty way to work in a long walk however.

OK, just in case you want it, I'll be boring and offer the practical advice. You've got to pull the woods and put them in separately, long clubs can stick into the more open space near the taillights. If you have a pullcart, it has to go in front. Helps if you don't have one of those bags that have been "supersized" like so many other things these days...

Fitting the clubs into the trunk and being able to take along enough clothes for a long weekend were two of my purchase criteria...

Completely agree with DonV on the 987 too. When I was driving off the lot the sales guy said he'd show me how to fit two stand bags and clubs in the car. I declined as I more excited to start driving it than observe his shenanigans. Now I wish I'd seen that magic trick.

I remove the clubs and put them underneath the the stand bag the rear trunk will close. Just make sure the clubs arent loose they could dent the trunk from inside.
Avid golfers should invest in the DAS SHIELD. $300 for the front and rear.
p.s. I broke two POS graphite dunlop woods at the driving range within 5 minutes of each other. The heads went flying about 100 meters. You get what you pay for.

clubs in trunk

I do not have a super jumbo bag, but I do have a full set of clubs and a a full size cart bag. My trick is to hold the bag horizontal with the club heads on the passenger side. I tilt the top of the bag down slightly and slide the club head side into the trunk as far as it will go to the right. Now there is just enough clearance on the left to squeeze the bottom of the bag down into the trunk past the weather stripping. Only room for one set though, no way to get a second bag in. Pull cart goes in the front.

Despite your assessment that the clubs were POS, I wonder if the above-average extreme heat in the rear Boxster trunk can cause the glues used in club manufacture to degrade, that's usually what happens when club-heads turn into projectiles.

Did they have to issue the "cease-fire" order on the range so you could do the "walk of shame" and retrieve your heads?

yeah it does get hot in there. Sometimes I like to put my wet laundry in there and blast a good 20 miles on the NJ turnpike. LOL.

THe commute to the driving range was a short one so I don't think it was glue issue. The shaft itself split and cracked like when a carbonfiber component on a bicycle breaks, not clean break at all.
Luckily I was one of only two or three dudes at the driving range so I just ran out the back door and escaped in the boxster.
p.s.
make sure you don't have any loose golf balls in the trunk either.
p.s.s.
after a five day visit I can report There are no Porsches in Orladno Florida. Its an japanese import dream come true.
