clutch switch to start engine?
 

Is there a switch that goes bad on the clutch? It seems I'm having a hard time starting my engine where it won't even start or turn over unless I press the clutch very hard.

The switch comes apart and can be serviced if you're careful and into dis assembly of a small part. I had to do the brake switch every other year.

This is not correct (sorry).
The switch that looks like brake switch, is used to deactivate the cruise control when pressing the clutch lever.
Ther is another switch located right next to it. It has a metal arm that can be adjusted by bending it. That wil make the clutch lever touch the switch sooner.

Just bypass it by jumpering around it, that is what my mech recommended and did. Then remember not to start the car in gear!

And just remeber that doing so will cause the car to fail state inspection in some areas as you are defeating a Federally mandated safty device. Many shops will also not do this as it opens up the possiblity for a liability claim down the road...........
