How to hard wire a radar detector?
 

I just bought a new Escort x50 and will want to hard wire it through the top of the windshield to mount it on the windshield just below the rear view mirror. Has anyone removed the trim piece at the top of the windshield? Do you just unscrew the visor and pop the rest of the plastic pieces off and then pop off the side pilar piece? I'd just like some reassurance that it's that simple before I dive in. Thanks in advance!

It's for a 997S, but it should work the same on a 987. 986 may be different in the specifics, but the idea is the same.
