Could someone help me?
I am trying to find the brightest lights possible for a 99 Boxster.
This link supposedly sales brights so light they arent sold in the U.S. http://www.electricalconnection.com/index2.htm |
carefull. usually the lumen / candella rating is drivin by current. if you put a much higher wattage incandescent bulb in the car, you could roast your wiring.
if you have xenon, the 'temperature' of the bulb (6000K, 10000K) doesn't really affect brightness so much as color. (6000K = white, 8000K = blue, 12000K = purple) i'd go with Litronics if you have the means. if you have halogen, i wouldn't mess around too much. |
Try the sylvania silver stars. They are priced pretty well and are a safe temp. for your car. I've heard of high temp bulbs burning the wires and melting the plastic on the headlamp. If your not to happy w/ these litronics may be a nice enhancement to save up for.

In addition to this, if you get too much heat in there you can crack your light covers. I'm with insite on the litronics if you have the $$$ or use the Silver Star if you just want to spend $40. We went to Silver Star and they are much whiter and brighter, but they won't harm the system. Whatever you do, be wary about aftermarket kits unless you know someone who has used it and not had any problems for a month or more. There are several thrown-together kits for the 928 and I have seen several people who had cracked lenses or worse from the kit. At $400+/lense, it's an expensive lesson to learn. |
Does anyone have a link as to where I can order the Silver Star lights? Im very interested in increasing the visibility without emptying my wallet.

AutoZone or Advance Auto. I'm sure most other auto parts stores carry them too, but I have purchased them at both of those stores.
