fuel gauge ?
 
Fuel gauge not working at all , reads empty with a full tank . had this happen last summer but it fixed itself but not this time . Any suggestions to what it would be ? please don't tell me i have to empty my gas tank [

... the float, a wiring/connector issue or the gauge itself.
Impossible to determine without investigating further.

i was thinking about starting with the float . the gauge moves slightly on start up , so I assume that is still working.
