Porsche Boxster Performance Cams

Do they exist?

Ive owned different types of cars in the past and always had options for performance cams because companies would make them available how come there's nothing for the boxster S?!

They really came with performance cams. More extreme profiles result in a narrower power band which might benefit 1/4 mile times but not road course lap times. The Boxster is a lousy 1/4 mile car so it's the wrong application for a robust aftermarket cam business. You can always grind your own one-off design. :)

We have a full line of profiles that we have developed for both 3 and 5 chain engines. We have learned to only apply them in the situations where we can match the cylinder heads to the camshaft profiles, at minimum. That means that they typically only see service on our complete engines.

These engine and ECUs are odd about changing camshaft timing events, things like terminal CELs and the like are often found when making camshaft changes. Our experience while developing our own profiles in house has been focused on cams that will allow the engine to still pass an emissions test, which is challenging to say the least.

That's a website no Pcar owner with a tight wallet should go to.

Cant believe I never came across these. I thought I was done with "bolt on" parts, this is next for sure.

Does anyone have them?

WTH - 20HP for over $2,000! I almost fainted!

…guess I should have heeded the warning from @ekan and kept my tight-a$$ed wallet outta there! If you want to give your $$ away, I can find 10 HP 'laying on the ground' somewhere - is it worth $1,000 to ya?

violametallic-S- 10-18-2012 09:24 AM

never said I was going to pay that price
