Car Alarm Going Off For No Reason???

I just bought a used 1998 Porsche Boxster a couple of days ago and the Car Alarm went off today for no apparent reason.

Any ideas why such a thing would happen?

Do you have the stock radio?

No there is an Alpine system.

May be the alarm wire that is used with the stock radio is shorting to ground thus triggering the "someone is stealing the radio" alarm.

Yep, mine does it now and then. Neighbors 20 lb. cat is the culprit.
