O2 sensors and CEL

Recently I had a CEL - read the code and it says that sensor 1 bank 1 is faulty. I suppose that is the pre-cat sensor on the left side of the car right?

When I used to reset the codes Before I replaced the sensor, the CEL would come back on almost immediately, now with the new sensor in, it takes abit longer (2 days) for it to come on, but it still does. CEL code is still the same. What could be the problem.

Will a battery d/c for a few minutes reset codes?

Bank 1 is the bank that has the #1 cylinder in it -- so this is the right side of the car. Yes, sensor #1 is pre-cat.

Please post what the code number is so we can tell whether the problem relates to the sensor, its heater, or a fuel adaptation problem. Also post the model year of your car as the DMEs vary depending on model year.

Bank 1 is the right side of the car. What exactly was the fault code. Many times the sensor is reading wrong because of other problems, not necessarily a bad sensor.
