p.s.
Turns out you can order Castrol Edge 5-40 if you pick up locally. Score! Shipping is not available for the oil and there's a limit of 15 qts.

p.p.s.
They carry Griots Garage Detailing products. Their towels for cleaning (green) and buffing (blue) are first rate but a bit on the pricey side ($5.50) relative to the cheap auto store varieties (~$3 each) . But the cheap ones will scratch up your paint since they are produced for janitorial cleaning (not a joke). I find the prickly hooks for microfiber to be overkill for a well maintained paint surface and need to be cleaned thoroughly as they easily trap things you don't want rubbing on your paint. The Griots towels have the shaggy strands that are much easier on the paint. Also, the waterless wash spray is my go to cleaner in between washes.

The sale is a great opportunity to bring the cost down.

Tried setting up for an oil change (I missed the big Mobil1 sale this week) but the code only discounted the K&N filter, not the oil. Anyone know what Walmart is getting for the 5 qt bottle of Mobil1?

Wow! That's a great deal. Too bad I just stocked up on Mobil V-Twin 20W50 for the Turbo with their prior sale (not as good....$2.00 off per quart....this would have been $3.60 off).

Castrol Edge was nearly $9 last week in the store. I remember thinking that was definitely the most i would have ever paid in the last 8 years. Glad they didnt have at least 10 qts of 5-40 in stock which prompted me to put it off.

My Advance Auto was out of 10-40, so I went with the 5-40 that they did have. I took that last 9 quarts @ $5.99. They wanted $22 for the filter, but I passed on that.

^ You should see what the exchange policy is. Maybe you can swap your 5-40 for the 10-40 when they refill stock. Those 10-40 and 5-40 Castrol Edge bottle always seem to be in short supply. I guess the Porsche/BMW DIY types run down the stock. I still have 2 or 3 Puralotor filters left from when they gave you one free with 5 quarts. Looks like a rebranded MAHLE (says made in Germany).

I stopped by Wal-Mart. They never ever have 40 weight anything. Mobil1 or Castrol. And getting any customer service there seems as enjoyable as a kick in the nuts. I don't think I've ever seen the 5 quart jugs in 40 weight either, certainly not discounted. The other weights were $8 and change.

I'm going to try and put in another order for 5 quarts in a separate order since 15 quarts was the limit for the first order. I'm pretty sure this stuff is going to hit $10 soon. I wonder how much the dealer is over-charging now.

EDIT.

Decided to go for 30 quarts.
FYI, Puraltor oil filter # Part No: L25316 ($23 before discount)
Puralator air filder # Part No: A35437 ($26 before discount)
both look identical to the MAHLE filters.
