Hand Break sensor not working

Just the other day when i put my hand break on i noticed the light didn't come on. I thought the light might just be burned out, but it isn't. Since the sensor is out the top wont go down. Is there a very hard fix? or is there a way to put the top down with out having the hand break on, so i would have to get the sensor fixed?

The easiest thing to do would be the Smartop replacement relay that doesn't require the handbrake to be pulled up.

The second easiest (and the cheapest) would be the top hack. You can alter the existing relay to bypass the handbreak sensor. Here's the instructions for the hack: Top Hack

First thing to do is pull the side of the center console out. Follow the hand break all the way down until you reach a small square button. Make sure the button isn't stuck first. This is a common problem. Usually its the button and not the sensor/relay beause for some reason it gets dirty down there and change always seems to end up there too :)
