OK...super clean exterior....one addressed rock chip on hood, interior 9+, new Alpine CD/Radio, top , black, excellent shape. New all season run flat pilots, new clutch, new dual mass fly wheel, new serp, had 100K massive service/tune at 78K (car has 79K) Basic 1998 silver with grey interior. New AOS MAF cleaned. Runs amazing. Have my eye on a 2004.....is 12,000-13,000 about right considering the recent work?

Yeah, $13k is about the cost of a well used 2003 go for these days... good luck. lol.

6 months ago I got a MY base 2000 82K miles, well-optioned in extremely good shape, 2 owners one only 6 mo's, all dealer service receipts including recent brake job/IMS/starter/alternator and various other good things, recent service, new rear tires, slate gray color, new rear window for under $8K as it needed a new clutch (that cost me $1400) AND that is a S. California car... I think this time of year, your location, and the market that price is VERY high. Go to ebay and look at what MY2000 Boxsters have sold for (not listed) and you'll see.

You won't see but a fraction of the recent money you put into it nor do options really make a difference in price.

Oh yeah, "run flats" are usually NOT desirable at all... everyone I know ditches those immediately due to both cost and the fact that they don't have the traction of other choices... and lastly that in the event you have an issue roadside the chance of anyone having one in stock is almost nil.

Run flats because I am diabetic and don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. Since I don't race the car....much... the Michelins hold me down just fine. I'll just keep it then I think and go after a "well used" 2003-2004. I guess I was thinking that since some of the items that seem to go bad were replaced, it might bump resale a little.

Prices are pretty subjective based on the area. Do a Craigslist or Yahoo auto search on your car and see what they are going for.

Blue Book for a 1998 with 78K miles is $9600 in top notch Excellent condition. The work you've done is part of getting Excellent condition rating. Otherwise the car would be closer to $9000.

I'd suggest asking $10,250 and taking the first offer over $9500. Boxsters are a dime a dozen these days. Even really nice ones.

...all in what you can get from a buyer. Sorry you are selling as it is a great car. Good luck with the sale.
