Boxster Model and options list...

Hi All,
I am trying to establish what 'model' my '97 Boxster is. I have read folk talking about base models etc and I have seen the 'options' numbers under the hood, but when I had a BMW, the dealer printed off a list of the model, full options etc. Do Porsche do this for customers too?
(The dealer I called seemed a little clueless!)

My Box was imported into the UK in 2001 so nothing is noted on the registration document.
Is there a thread with what the codes mean too?

Ideally if I can build the history, I can continue the car's history in my ownership.

Any help or guidance is appreciated

Here's the best list of options around:
Porsche Option Codes List: The Grandmother of all Porsche Options List. Decode your Options

Or a VIN / Options decoder:

I believe Porsche will generate a "Certificate of Authenticity" from you VIN number. Not sure where you go to get it, mine came with one.

Try

Certificate of Authenticity - Porsche Service | Porsche

Of course, it ain't free!

Try this

Match up the codes under the front hood on the sticker.

You have a "Base" model. Only base models were made from 1997-1999. In 2000, Porsche introduced the "S" model to sell along with the base model. The S had a bigger engine, larger brakes, and a few nicer interior bits than the Base.

Here is how to decode the label under the front trunk:

And here is the list of options:

Match the factory option codes listed on the label under your front trunk with the list of options from the link above, and bingo, that is what came with your car when purchased from the dealer.

Panelbeater

When I got a quote from a panelbeater (bodyshop) for a repair they were able to list all my boxsters options from the vin number. I think the system was called Audatex.
