Oh boy I just drove my car for the first time.

Got some bugs but should be all tidied up soon enough.

Replaced the frunk actuator and put in new hood struts. Finally after owning the car for two months I can access the frunk.

And to think the shop I took it to wanted to charge me $280 for that not even including new hood struts. HA!

Today I changed my seats back from the 996 GT3 seats to the original stock heated seats. While I was "in there" I installed the ECU Doctors waterproof immobilizer case. I also took my Brey Krause roll bar extension off. The GT3 seats are great for the track and comfortable for driving, but getting in and out of the car is a pain. The stock seats felt like a comfortable old pair of shoes! Last weekend I put my 17 inch wheels and tires on and gave my brake calipers a good washing while the wheels were off. In a few weeks I'll put the hardtop on. It has been in the 70's here in the Northeast the past few days so I took it out for a top down test drive this afternoon after the seat change was completed.

I saw the video last night on Facebook, unless there is someone else who just finished the same engine swap. I had to have the volume off though as my wife was already asleep. Nice work!

Yeah, that's me. I can't figure out how to upload a video on this website. I'm terribly incompetent when it comes to technologies (hence the carb sitting on top LOL).

She's really coming along. I looked up some of the wire diagrams while I was bored at work today. I think I'm just gonna hot wire the cooling fans directly to the 4 relays under the dash with a thermoswitch on the block.

Reset Air Bag light and Deoxit 5

I used my new Foxwell nt 510 elite ODB to read and reset air bag warning light! Worked great. Error was actually the driver's seat belt - low voltage is my guess based on other posts and my scenario of starting the engine without my seat belt on... triggering the seat belt alarm and a low voltage hit on the related air bag warning system.

So, bought a can of Deoxit 5 electrical contact cleaner and applied it to the seatbelt receptacle and connection to the bar under the seat as noted in other posts. Magic!

I drove it up and down the street between rain showers. Roads were wet so I was able to hoon around a bit in a local empty parking lot. Have a hard time breaking away with the 2.5l engine and sticky 265s in the rear. So the wet roads make it easy.......And fun.

Also, cant say enough about Ben's SSK. Really changes the feel of the car!

Remove summer tires and installed all-weather tires in prep for winter, but will most likely winterize and not drive from Dec - Apr/May

Installed new Porsche OEM hood struts:dance:, re-installed electrical hood release button (it popped out), and lubed the drivers side door.

Haven't exactly done this yet, but I just ordered a Rennline shift knob. I'm super excited for it since I've been driving on Ben's short shifter on the factory knob for a few months now.

Bought everything I need to do the transaxle oil change. Went with Lucas products. I've heard good things. I'll tackle it this weekend I think. One more thing to check off my list.

*UPDATE. Done. Easy. Only tricky part was getting off and on the aluminum braces and cover plate to access the drain and fill plugs. Needed a little persuasion. Not a lot, just enough.

Took it for a quick drive. Rolled it into the big barn for the winter nap. Only put 2200 some miles on this year, normally I do about 5k. No blues on the mall,no car shows, no musical fountain, no festivals, it was a lost summer. I did buy a new boat so that took up a lot of my free time, but I miss taking the boxster to some event. Hopefully next summer we can put this bs behind us

Clean and waxed for winter storage. We're expecting snow in Central PA but I'll get it out if we get a nice day with clear roads.

Gave the Box a new stablemate this weekend. 2018 Cayenne Platinum Edition. CPO, one owner, 22,400 miles. For the Box, my 3.8 FSI build is underway.
