Cleaned radiators and last week fixed A/C, very happy!

Brakes .
I fitted new discs , pads ,msensors , and handbrake shoes .
If I hadn't bothered with the handbrake it would have been a nice quick job :)

Did a quick recon mission behind the door card to see why the inner handle has issues .

Ordered a new spring for the inner handle online .

Put a new battery in the new remote key-head .

Removed Front Bumper and Cleaned Radiators. Fixed some of the underside fasteners while there. Driving to Outer Banks, NC (350 miles) so max cooling needed. It will be interesting to see how 6.5 hours drive will go, especially for the passenger.

reiver 07-05-2013 08:10 AM

I had mine professionally detailed/clay bar'd/waxed and then my neighbor decided to water their lawn + my driveway with hard water thereby wasting 3 hours of my time and $350. Sigh...

Yes, you can fit all 4 new tires in the car to take to the shop.

a front and rear on the passenger seat, a rear in the frunk with the spare removed, and a front in the trunk with the trunk hanging open a bit.

Compared to the old Pilot Sports I already notice an increase in traction but it takes 200-300 mi to properly break them in apparently so it will get even better.

Mine came with Hankooks, but I noticed that the fronts wear FAST. I have Pilot Super Sports on my BMW and those have been VERY nice. They tend to grip well before suddenly breaking loose in the rear cornering, but that could just be the characteristics of the car as I'm getting used to her. After getting stock Bridgestones all the time (350Z, BMW 3-series, etc), I love popping on the Michelin tires. I've never had the normal Pilot Sports, just the PS2 and PSS. The Super Sports grip like crazy. My Nitto 555s gripped real good (275 width) on my Z, but it was totaled (not my fault) 25% into the tread and I didn't get to the point of 50% tread where many tires begin to loose their grip to see if it affected the Nitto 555s or not.

Repaired the top (rear bottom seam was coming off)
Glued the stock poorly-placed, no-use cupholders in closed position
Finished the headlights back to a clear/new state (still have the ugly amber)
Got my new spare key in ($$$$) at the dealership. Got my new color-matched keychain (from dealer)
Got to know the car by running through inside and out checking everything to look for problems.
Officially became a major Porsche fan and joined PCA

Yes, I like it very much. I'm not normally a person willing to deal with the hassle of a soft top, but didn't want to pay Cayman prices this time around. I really like that top. The stock hard top is not very good and the Cayman looking one looks weird, as well. I really like this one. Too bad they went out of business@!!!

Last weekend I did a Charity carwash and a canada day parade

Spent the day washing and scrubbing the top, and then applying 303 fabric guard. It was filled with fireworks ash.
Went to a party at a friends house. He told me that the house at the foot of the cul-de-sac put on a over the top fireworks display. Boy, was it ever. One of the other neighbors said that the guy spends $5,000  on fireworks. Parked around the corner, but it was still too close. the car was covered with fireworks ash and it turned the top a nice grey color. At least there were no holes burned in it.

Fixed my inner door handle so the car locks perfectly now .
Dropped one of her new wheels of at my buddy's shop , then when seeing the coating guy .

Oh , and drove it around a bit :D:D

Attended the local Cars & Coffee event. Got there 10 minutes after start time, and the lot was full and closed to any more cars. Parked about two counties over, and walked to the lot. There were more Porsches in the parking lots than the event lot! Plus a lot more cool sport and exotic cars.

Saw kashmir's setup there, but I couldn't locate Mike anywhere.

Strolled around for an hour snapping pics and chatting with owners.

I feel your pain. I detailed mine on Thursday, wash, clay, polish, wax. Perfect. Take it to an outdoor concert, FT Worth Symphony Orchestra playing with a Rolling Stones tribute band, the concert was awesome with the last song Brown Sugar played to exploding fireworks. We come back to the car, for which I paid extra and find the sprinklers came on during the concert with what has to be the dirtiest water I have ever seen:eek: So today, washed it again:ah:

My lady and I enjoyed a nice 20 mile drive to Lewiston, near Niagara Falls to walk around and have some BBQ for dinner. After that we took it to Art Park and she drove it for the first time (we picked it up late last summer). She did a great job, stalled once and no grinding :)

Hit 80000 on the way back. Then loaded the kids into the volkswagon and went for icecream.

oops, double post

Ian c 07-06-2013 06:42 PM

Took it for a drive down pch :)
Stopped at sunset beach for coffee , and cruised Huntington Beach for awhile , then back up pch to home .
A nice relaxing afternoon ahead of tommorow when I will be cutting open and modifying the exhaust that came today

TeamOxford 07-06-2013 08:40 PM

The PCH is an AWESOME drive!

I'm so jealous right now. :(

I'm using a couple of young Huntington Beach companies at the moment ... Mechanics shop and a Bodyshop , so the little boxster does that drive pretty regular :)

reiver 07-06-2013 10:09 PM

I finally let it have a day off. I haven't driven my BMW at all since I bought the Boxster...

mump 07-07-2013 06:26 AM

Perfect weekend for top down driving. Went up on the Mosel River for a Wine Festival. Here's a pic from the drive back home:
