Starter986, I totally feel your pain. I guess some people just don't get it! Hilarious.

For me at least Crazy money to spend on a 986 but I can’t wait to break it in and turn it loose. Definitely should be near one of a kind.

Oh, you don’t have to talk to me about spending crazy money on a 986.......reupholstered seats, new top, both bumper covers resprayed, etc, etc, etc. and mine is only a 2.7, and one with 158,000 miles at that. LOL. The things we do for love!
Love the SE cars, and yours should be a 911 beater.

Overthinking is what I do best!
Been mulling what tire sizes to get for my new-to-me Cayman S II 18" wheels to swap out my 17" wheels on a 2001 Base.
Just ordered these sizes:
215/45/18
245/40/18
They are .6" and .7" inches larger in diameter than my current tires. 25.7" is just inside the 3% rule.
Why did I choose these over the more accepted 225/255 setup? Well, going from 17s to 18s I liked the extra sidewall height. I also like the little longer gearing for high speed cruising. With the lighter wheel/tire combo in the rear maybe the torque loss due to gearing will even out.
Pics/Review to follow next week. Hopefully the rears will not hit the fender during high loads... we shall see!

Thanks GRC! Looking forward to getting the car back in January. I’ll post some first impressions as soon as weather permits

Took my motorbike on a Boxster road reconnaissance run.
Hwy 1 from Hope to Cache Creek is one nice nice run. It's gonna be fun in the Boxster next time.
Not sure if that counts for this thread though........

Went to a cars and coffee this morning with a turnout of close to 50 Porsche’s and 25 or so Italian and other exotics. The highlight was 3 (count em 3) GT3’s, a new Spyder, half a dozen 911 turbos of various vintages and a host of Ferrari’s. I’d like to upload som pic but I’m on an iPad and, you know.
PS One of the GT3 was an RS.

Started the O2 sensor swaps. I'm doing all 4. They are seized in there pretty good. So ima gonna let them soak on PB Blaster overnight. The garage smells of persuasion and progress
Yes, I got the O2 sensors removal socket. Anyone got any other tips?
