Funky passenger window behavior.

Tried to roll the passenger window down this afternoon, and was met with a strange "binding" sound and then it stopped about 1/3 of the way down. When I shut the door with the window rolled up, it once again, makes that "binding" sort of a sound and then rolls 1/3 of the way down and stops. The car is an '01 Boxster.

Window regulator?

Thanks in advance for any help..

Mine did that once on the drivers , until I discovered the rubber trim was grabbing the window on the way down and inverting while doing so, it would slow the roll-down to a crawl.
I lubed up the rubber with Mothers and it stopped.

Thanks for the reply, but it seems to be something internal...Looks like I'll be pulling the door panel to get a better look...

THANKS SoK!

You nailed it and saved me $125 off of the already low Suncoast price on the part!
Looks like I'll add this into my already planned "OBC stalk upgrade" (my high beam switch went out last month)

Let me know if you're going to be in Austin for F1..I'll get the first 3 rounds!

Just a quick heads up, I think it says this somewhere in the guide but I didn't get that far before it was to late for me. DO NOT plug the battery back up before you hook up the airbag, even if only for a second to check to see if you have the window adjusted correctly. I did and now I'm stuck with my airbag light on and hundreds of miles from a Porsche dealer. I'm not sure how to check it without rolling the window up or down but maybe you can hookup the airbag and have someone hold it up while you adjust your window.
