tire question
I blew out a rear tire (ran over a screw, tire lost air on the highway and it tore up). No damage to the car otherwise.
The remaining three tires are pretty new (within 5K-7K miles), so I will keep the remaining tires and just buy a replacement. Now my questions: - Should I rotate the other rear? - Replace the side that flatted and leave the other rear alone? - On a 986S, does one side of the car get more wear in the rear due to the power train? Thanks. |
1 - If you have asymmetric tires, then no.
2 - Probably, depends on wear 3 - my right rear tends to eat up wheel bearings, but both sides eat up tires. |
1. There is no particular reason to rotate the other rear.
2. Yes, just replace the damaged tire. 3. No, both sides should generally wear evenly. If they are not (to a significant degree), then something is likely wrong. |
