After extensive reading up on the posts in this forum, I did it: I bought a Box. I really appreciate everyone here who shares his/her expertise and makes this such a great forum.

When the car is delivered tonight I guess the fun will begin--and the questions (how do you fill it without spilling gas on the paint, how do you remove bird droppings from the soft top, etc.).
It really is a great car , especially compared to the other roadsters on the market: sophisticated understated design, terrific engine purr, great handling. Its the only roadster I found to be a worthy successfor to my current car, a '71 280SL ("pagoda") MBZ.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot on theis forum. Thanks again!

I remember the excitement of getting my boxster. I bought it in Miami and had to wait 2weeks to pick it up. I carried pictures around in my pocket until I was able to go get it. Congratulations and welcome to our world. Post pics as soon as your able . Enjoy your first night w/ your new girl. Utilize this forum for all questions and concerns. I've learned so much from this board, it has been so valuable. Not to mention how many trips to the ultra expensive porsche dealership it has saved me.

It was hard to find a Box with so few options. I only (already) regret two things: I didn't splurge for the Bose system and i didn't get the seat package with the softer seats (the standard ones are like concrete, andi know one Box that i sat in had much softer contoured seats). But this car was on the lot, in the right color and the price seemed right.

Now if i can only get over the fear of driving it on the crazy streets of LA! :eek:

Congrats! You'll grow to like the xenons and appreciate the seats over long trips. Maybe you can have an aftermarket sound system installed at some point. The Bose is OK, not worth the price.
