identity of a prt

All. I have not been able to take a pic but if you start to.open the top like you were going to get into engine bay. On both sides there is a little piece of plastic towrad the front of the piece that lifts. I was cleaning my car and felt as if both of those moved forward. They are rectangular and small and black. Anyone know what they are?

These are sliding blocks that adjust the final height of the clamshell in the closed position. As they slide, they move up and down. Close your clamshell and see if it is flush with the surrounding body. If not, adjust the little block until it is.

They should slide both directions, clicking through positions.
