Both front hood releases won't work. Please help!

So here is my situation I have a 1999 Boxster and just like so many others my front hood release will not work. I have already found the emergency release cable under the passenger head light (in the wheel well), but the kicker is when I try to pull on it nothing happens, it seems to be at a dead stop. I have also pulled the drivers side wheel off to get to the cable that runs from the release lever in the cabin to pull on it (which I was told by a Porsche service guy has worked for him). That cable at least feels like it could be doing something, but never the less still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried having someone push down on the lid while you pulled the cable?

Yes I have, both with the emergency cable and the lever in the cabin.

Try pulling the cable while pushing down on the hood where the latch is. Sounds like its jammed.

Oops...my browser didn't refresh. You could try carefully prying up on it while pulling the cable.

Thanks for the help! After trying everything I went back and had someone pull the release while I sat on the hood and then I just pried a little harder. Moral of the story when all else fails get a bigger pry bar.
Cheers

SInce you problem is resolved, I have a new one.

Wife's 98 Boxster trunk handles are locked, when I turn on the alarm everything honks and blinks like it should but the levers do not unlock. The gas fill door opens and everything else works normally. I am thinking that the problem is with the lever assembly itself and the locking mechanism is stuck in the locked position. Does anyone know where the wires for the lock go and are they energized to unlock or lock?

Any help appreciated, my wife getting annoyed.

I have locked and unlocked with key and fob, reset windows, pulled fuses, locked and waited for alarm to set. No love...

I had a similar issue once and was solved by using the interior lock button on the dash, locked and unlocked a few times and then the trunk handles released.

Been there done that, no result :(

Check fuse c3. That's the lever lock fuse. Applying 12v there should release the lock.

I will try it, thanks!
