Continuing radio and cruise issues after ignition replacement - related?

I had my mechanic replace the entire ignition switch in my '98. It cured the major issue of electrical spikes ticking through the system taxing my relays and potentially killing some 1k electrical part. I understand i dodged a bullet by not frying said part.

All along my radio would not work until the car gets to normal operating temperature, say 4 miles in this heat, popping in and out then finally staying on. Also the cruise control works intermittently sometime the light comes on and stays other times it is on then I accelerate and it dissapears.

Is it wishful thinking that these issues would be addressed by the ignition replacement (which was not cheap by the way $495) or are these issues typically unrelated?
