New Top

Purchased from autotopsdirect. A5/Acoustic / Glass. Had a local company here do the install.

Really happy with it. Fits perfect. Glass is smaller than the plastic, but haven't really had a problem seeing out of it. Really noticeable noise difference as well.

It's nice to look in the rearview and see a nice, clear window!

That looks nice! I want a new top as well!

$$$

How much did it set you back?

Rfromet 07-12-2012 05:09 AM

It was $700 for the top, and $600 for the install...

So $1300 total. Well worth it in my opinion...makes the car look almost new! Plus, the car is near mint, and the cracked and faded plastic was bumming me out big time!

I replaced mine also. I think I paid about $400 for mine and had a friend install it. My car originally came with an ugly black top but when I changed it I went with a navy blue. I think it makes the car look 100 times better.

I put the same top on my car a few weeks ago. I believe it is much quieter. The glass window is a no duh in my eyes. Plastic windows are horrible. You can polish a turn but it is still a turd.

I am definitely feeling some new top envy...

She does look nice. Kudos.

Make sure it gets plenty of time out in the sun and give the top a few up and down cycles so you can stretch the material out. Sometimes the new, tight material puts a little extra strain on the motors and such until it stretches out.

Oh yeah, and you're gonna love how the rain just beads up and rolls right off of it. The treatment that's first put on there lasts a good while, but you can always reapply the repellent yourself.
