partial leather?

just bought an 02 boxster and the original window sticker was in the owners manual-it states that my car has partial leather surfaces on the seats. which parts are leather and which parts are not? can i clean the whole seat with leather cleaner/conditioner? my passenger seating surface has some type of permanant stain or something has eaten clean through the surface to a lighter color want to know the best way to approach but im thinking it may need to be professionally redone-ill try to post a picture later..

Anything your body doesn't touch is not leather...so the sides and back. Nothing you clean the leather with will hurt the vinyl. Mine are the same and black. I did the 4 step Leatherque.com and they came out awesome, takes time but if you enjoy projects it is rewarding.

Depending on how bad the discoloration is, you might want to consider repainting the area or even the whole seat. I have had terrific results with Color-Plus.

For the record, that's leatherique.com

Good stuff, as far as I can tell. But I've owned my car its whole life and maintained the leather. This product is supposed to excel at restoring leather (like yours) that already has issues. I used it a couple of times anyway, but it's a lot of trouble just for maintenance.
