Water under front hood / Headlight Seal Q
Two q's...
1. I notice when I wash my car I pop open the front trunk there is a significant pool of water on the passenger side on the black plastic area. This is the area to the passenger side of the battery cover beyond the holes. I am worried about water pooling up and then going into the electrical components there. Anyhow is this normal? I haven't really noticed any gaskets issues or such... I always dry it up.. 2. My headlights have the thin black gasket seal around the top part of the lights...however I noticed the bottom half of my lights don't have any seal..and there's a 0.5cm or so gap there... am I missing a seal there? This is on a 2003 S. thanks, comet |
The water that gets under the front hood will either dry on its own or drip down into the area beneath the battery and go out the front drains (which are located on both sides of the battery). So, nothting to worry about (unless your front drains are clogged which is why you should check them every 6 months or so). While you're at it, you might was well check the rear drains too.
