Accident Causes Codes?

My 01 Boxster S tiptronic (78,000miles) had a rear end accident....It was hit on the passengers side rear bumper. It was hit kinda "sideways", and was pushed about 4 feet.

The rear spoiler will not deploy..the fuse was blown, when I replaced the fuse and relay, it still wouldn't work. I'm getting power to the motor, but I'm pretty sure the electric deployment motor is fried.

Immediately after the accident, the check engine light came on, and the passengers side buckle sensor came on. No airgs fired. The check engine light was the code for the secondary airpump. I reset the engine code, but not the airbag code.

I'm wondering if it's common for these lights to come on after an accident? Is it possible that a wire (or wires) got pinched, causing a surge that triggered these codes? Is it possible that the Secondary Air Injector pump could have sustained damage as a result of the accident?

Thanks for any and all replies

Yes, that could happen, and some of the associated plumbing/valves of the SAI system could be dislodged/damaged. Same thing with other emission control devices and wiring harnesses.
