Wheel restoration NorCal and gauge covers?
 

Three small q's ... The boxster I bought had a few cosmetic things I am thinking of fixing...

1. Most of the nice 18" alloy wheels with Porsche logo have scratches removing the alloy along them ...can anyone recommend a place in northern California to have that fixed and wheels refinished? Is that possible?

2. I think the gauge covers over the speedometer etc were washed with something that makes it look like permanent water drops are on there...are they plastic or glass? Is this something that is easy to replace? Any DIY or ideas on how to get in there? I cant tell if the result is from a glass cleaner on plastic on the outside or actual dirtiness on the inside.

3. There are some scuffs on the front left headlight... Is it possible to buff this out?

1) Check your local Penny Saver ad. and craigslist there some shops advertising refinishing and straightening bend wheel.

2) Try cleaning it with a small amount of cleaner/wax, if the stain is inside its probably an glass cleaner over spray seeped from the side. I believe its plastic tap it with your fingernail, plastic makes louder ticking sound.

3) Headlight restorer (liquid) might work, there's one that does not require sanding forgot what brand its in a small blue bottle.

I have just started refinishing my standard 16" 1999 Boxster wheels. I have one wheel down to the metal. Took a lot of work. Used airplane paint remover. Took paint off but still had something gray left. Had to manually remove by wire brush and sanding. Is there an easier way?
