Question xenons

Anybody have comments on installing xenon bulbs in stock headlights ? They seem to range from 12.99 to over 100....any real difference except the dent in one's wallet ?

do you have Litronic units (real xenons, with starters, etc.)? This is required to actually use "true" xenon replacement bulbs. Most of the bulbs advertised, the "bright white" or "blue/purple bulbs," are actually halogens, with perhaps a bit of xenon gas, but still use a filiment. True Xenons are xenon discharge lamps and have a cathode/anode system: they require special 'starters" units to fire them. Bottm line: I would avoid such products since they are painted to look blue, or are of significantly higher power ratings (watts) and can burn your light covers (or cause various electrical problems>

Unhappy I confirm...

I had just replaced the original lights with "brighter" ones. After a couple of weeks I saw the plastic melting... so I had to replace them Lesson learned: Never try to seem brighter than you are
Anyway I was lucky to find a replacement kit on Ebay....
