Remote Key - Microswitch came off....
 

The remote button to unlock the doors stopped working. When I opened the key head, the tiny Microswitch was loose. When placed back in its home, it worked, which is good.

The question is how do I get that switch resoldered in place without making a new problem. It looks like you need a fine tipped iron and a very steady hand....?

A fine tip soldering iron and a steady hand. :)

You can carefully file down a regular 30watt soldering iron tip, which works well. I use a Dremel with a cutting wheel to grind it down for fine work. Don't forget to use rosin(not rosin core solder, that stuff is crap and makes a mess). That will make the solder flow nicely and really does the "fine" work for you.

Thanks for the tips: Filed an old low wattage iron to a fine point and carefully resoldered the switch bac in place. Heps to have someone hold the switch down so the switch doesn't,t move.
Remote works again..:)

This is one I missed, should'a taken pics. Perhaps this will illustrate: I opened the FOB and found one of the tactile microswitches loose inside. If you open a FOB, there should be two very small switcheds located immediately below where you press.

To determine if there was further damage, I placed the switch between the two solder points and tested it by pushing down on the switch. The remote still worked so I carefully--take your time-- soldered the switch back in. The trick is to NOT overheat. Get a small amount of solder on the point of the iron, touch it to the connection and get out....Once one end was secured, the other end was easy.
