What is this switch?

Hey, I have this switch and have no idea what it's for or what it does. The button rotates about one full turn and it "clicks" in and out.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1336952617.jpg

That's not a factory switch.

its an integrated radar knob. don't know from what brand but it may be valentine 1, or k-40. when its on it should makes some beeps.

On a side note, what does this button/knob do?

I have seen it on many boxsters 2001+, I'm guessing it's something to do with windshield wipers?

Looked in my 00' Manual and could not find anything about it on the dashboard diagram.

Intermittent wiper adjustment, mine doesn't have it.

I had one like that on my last car. It deployed the passenger ejector seat. :D

Here's a dumb question...what happens to the car when you turn the button?

Ghostrider 310 05-14-2012 08:07 AM

Push button is momentary switch hooked to garage door opener under dash, that's how I rigged mine till I got homelink.

Sisu guy 05-14-2012 02:49 PM

Well, everyone's right about the wiper delay switch.... The switch in question feels like a rheostat when it's turned. I assumed the click in and out turns something on and off. Thought maybe it was some kind of fader control. Maybe for the rear deck speakers?

I have one something like that one.
