My key fell apart

Last time I drove my 2003 Boxster S I noticed the two haves of the key I normally use had separated, like you'd do if you had to change the battery in the key. The o-ring is still in place and the two prongs that are supposed to hold it together look fine, yet I can't get the key halves to stay connected together now.
Does anyone have a tip or trick on getting the key halves back together and stay that way?

this just happened to me too.
put the middle piece with the battery into the half with the buttons, so that the battery is exposed. this should click in place with the little tabs. it is these two tabs that seem to prevent it from working the other way around.
then the other half should just click in place easily.

it doesn't seem to work the other way around as easily.

that was the trick for me to get it back together.

Thanks IGK That was perfect advise. The circuit board was on the other half and I couldn't get the key back together, switched it to the other side with the buttons and it snapped back together easily.
Thanks again!
