I'm not really a DIY guy. Would a place like Best Buy be able to install them, or are the specialist shops out there that could install in a porsche?

I've talked to best buy around here about doing this, they'll only install a couple of select units in these cars and those head units were 700-900 each.

I just recently replaced the CDR-220 cause the flip door wasn't registering as closed anymore, and no DIY shims or fixes solved the problem.

First stop was Best Buy where they had a decently priced HU but wanted over $100 to install it and told me that it wouldn't work with the existing amp and would require all sorts of rewiring or amp replacement.

Second, and final, stop was an Audio Express that had slightly more expensive units, but $1 installation and they didn't try to scam me into a whole bunch of unnecessary crap. For $225 out the door I had a brand new, installed head unit with a front USB that charges my iphone4 and gives me control from either the phone or radio...with a remote (why?)

Just my experience...I think Best Buy will go the way of Woolworths inside of 10 years.
