Motor Mount Question?

This picture shows the stock motor mount off of a 97 Boxster on the right, and the motor mount bushing I just purchased from our new host.

Is this bushing the new, improved version from the 987 application?

Also, how crucial are the rubber stops shown in the picture below? Should I get matching stops for the revised motor mount bushing, or can I just modify the older style to fit?

I replaced mine a while back, I don't remember it looking like the one on the left. I did reuse the rubber stops. Your new one looks like it could work just fine. I'm no expert on rubber end stops but I would think in the long run you want them on, think the car would survive just fine without them. Just cut them to fit the new motor mount.

I was thinking the same thing... Who has a marble work bench?? Probably cleans-up easy.

Who knows? Maybe he's got a peg board with tools hangin' in his kitchen?? ;)

I didn't use the rubber stops when I replaced my mount. The olds ones crumbled away and I didn't want to wait. I haven't heard any noise, yet.
