Window/top issue

I posted this on Pelican bit got responses so I thought i try a cross post... I have a new issue... when I unlatch the top, the windows no longer drop however if I manually lower them, they go up when I re-latch the top. Here is what I have done so far:

2001 Boxster S with 15,000 miles

Disconnected the battery, waited 10-15 min and reconnected it. No changed.

Bought (from Pelican) a new micro switch that goes between the sun visors. After replacing the micro switch I get the same result. Windows don't drop when unlatched however they do go up when latched.

If I depress the window switches, the windows will go full up or full down properly.

I am open to suggestions or ideas.

Make sure that the mechanical part of the top latch switch is connecting to the top microswitch that you replaced - its like a spring loaded plunger in the hole where the top latch goes.

can you lower the top?

If I understand you correctly, yes it is touching. As a mater of fact when latched, the windows go up. They just don't drop when unlatched. I have even used my finger to replicate the latch and same result. Thanks.

Yes, top goes up and down fine. I just need to remember to manually drop the windows so the top doesn't catch while opening.

Any chance the big convertible top relay in the foot well controls the windows as well?

I'll look at the manual tonight to see if there are any specific fuses to the top/window interplay.
