Frunk mechanism doesn't open even though it engages

Hi guys,

it finally happened to me as well:
When I try to open the frunk I hear that the motor which unlatches the frunk engages but the frunk doesn't pop.
I was able the open the frunk with the "secret release cable" so I really don't need any posts about how to get in the frunk, it's open. I just need to figure out what's broken.
As I said the unlatch motor engages it just doesn't pop

Ideas?

maybe just put your finger in there an lift it up? sometimes it just doesn't pop up, but it's still unlocked.

Garage
I would pull the actuator and make sure its actually working. Possibly a stripped gear or other internal mechanical failure in the actuator(not familiar with the internals)?

Did you try locking the door with the key and then unlocking it again?

Is this the problem where the trunk lever lever won't pull up, as it its stuck in the locked position? even though the door driver's side door is open (obviously but you get what I mean).
