Hardtop lever not spinning the spinlock

I'm trying to reinstall my hardtop after having my softop renovation put on hold for the weekend.

When I turn the level it does not engage the spinlock...it looks like the lever has slipped down the spinlock about a half inch.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Its tricky sometimes. Try it the following way:

1 - Make sure the front is in first.

2 - Make sure both hardtop levers are in the spinlocks. Don't lock them down until both are in.

3 - If you need to, have someone push with steady pressure on the outside of the hardtop when you align the levers into the spinlocks.

4 - Turn the handles to lock the spinlocks once both are aligned.

If you've had the hardtop on the car before, I would assume the set-up is correct. If not, then we can have a discussion about whether the spinlocks are installed correctly and if the hardtop needs to be adjusted (you can change the orientation of the levers in the hardtop so they align differently).

If none of that works, just drive it as a convertible...

Hmm looks like the pin attaching the lever to the spinlock shaft has broken. I'm going to try and find a substitue pin. Otherwise I guess I'm going to have to replace the whole spinlock?

Broken pin highlighted with the green arrow....if my first image upload succeeds.

You should be able to replace the broken pin. The rubber cover may get in the way and have to be removed.

where you able to replace the pin? I am having the same issue with a used top I recently purchased. Thanks!

I used a small cotter pin as a replacement but I didn't put the top back on the car after I fixed it due to the arrival of spring.
