Two Quick Beeps

A weird thing is going on with my locking system. I am familiar with the 1 long beep that one hears when locking the car and something like the glove box is open. I am also familiar with the 2 beeps one hears when locking the car twice quickly to disable the internal sensor. Now I'm experiencing another sequence of beeps.

I will lock the car when sitting inside by pushing the lock button on the center console. When I unlock the car by pushing the same button, I hear 2 really quick beeps and the car seems to re-lock itself - at least the red light on the button comes back on and I hear a noise that sounds the car re-locks itself.

Has anyone experienced this. Any idea what's going on. I've had the car for 10years and this just started happening a few weeks ago.

One more symptom. Every once in a while, I'll notice that the locking button red light is on without me pushing it.

Thanks

This is a microswitch / sensor problem. Most likely, one of the microswitches in one of the door locking / cnetral locking mechanisms is playing up.

Sacn the car with either the Durametric software or a PIWIS system, either will show you the last ten reasons the alarm beeped............

Don't recall 2 beeps or the confused state when the LOCK rocker button wFolloas pressed, but about 3 years ago I had similar problem with the LED on the lock button light up and turning off on it's own it only happen when being driven. Following recommendation of numerous threads in this forum, I managed to traced it to the passenger side lock mechanism.
Since my plan was to buy a new mechanism, I disassembled the mechanism just to see what's in it. In looking at the internal parts, I found that the printed wiring board to which the harness connector connects to had bad solder joints. reflowed the solder and it's been working ever since.
